London Bridge — The Yellow Van Company, family-run removals serving every London borough since 2011
Moving Londoners across every borough since 2011.

London is our home. We're a family-run removals firm based in Mitcham, South London, and we've been moving people across the capital since 2011. From a one-bed in Battersea to a four-bed in Wimbledon, a flat in Hackney to an office in Fulham, a townhouse in Clapham to a family home in Ealing — we've done thousands of London moves across just about every postcode.

What we do is a proper full pack and move service: we bring the materials, we pack, we load, we drive, we unload, we unpack, and we take the empty boxes away when we're done. You don't have to lift a finger. If you'd rather pack yourself and just need the muscle, we do moving-only jobs too — see prices below.

How much does a removal in London cost?

It depends what you need — and any company giving you a flat price without seeing the job is either guessing or planning to add things on later.

Two ways to book us:

Moving only

You do the packing, we shift everything. Lower cost if you've got the time and don't mind doing it yourself.

  • 1-bed flat: £150–£350
  • 2-bed flat: £250–£400
  • 3-bed house: £400–£600
  • 4+ bed home: £1,000+

*Prices shown are guide estimates for local moves — every move is different, so your final quote will depend on the specifics of your job. Longer distances quoted on request.

Full pack and move (our most popular option)

We do the lot — materials, packing, loading, transport, unloading, unpacking, and we take all the empty boxes away. The least amount of work you can possibly do on moving day.

  • 1-bed flat: £500–£900
  • 2-bed flat: £900–£1,200
  • 3 bed home: £1,400+
  • 4+ bed home: £1,900+

*Prices shown are guide estimates for local moves — every move is different, so your final quote will depend on the specifics of your job. Longer distances quoted on request.

What changes the price:

  • Size of your home
  • How much is there to move
  • Distance to the new place
  • Number of floors at both ends

Ring us for a five-minute ballpark, then a firm written quote after a short video call or visit. No deposits required to hold a date in most cases.

Why Londoners choose us

We're London-based and we know it.

Our base is in Mitcham — right in the heart of South London. But we move customers across the whole capital, from Croydon to Camden, Fulham to Stratford. We don't drive in from Surrey or the home counties — we're already here.

Eight bright yellow vans, all branded.

We run a fleet of eight branded yellow vans in different sizes. You'll see us coming. Whatever the size of your move, from a studio flat to a five-bed house, we've got the right vehicle for the job. No having to "make two trips" because the van's too small.

Over a decade doing this.

We started The Yellow Van Company in 2011 and have been at it ever since. Most of our team have been with us for years — when you book us, you get experienced movers, not someone on their second-ever job.

We're a family business, not a faceless chain.

The person who quotes you is usually one of the people on the day of the move. If something goes wrong, you don't get passed around a call centre — you ring us and we sort it.

Rated 4.9 from over 8,000 reviews across Google, TrustATrader and Trustpilot.

Not a number we made up — go and check. It's the result of thousands of Londoners moving home with us and being happy enough to take the time to say so.

We're fully insured

for your belongings in transit and in our care. Boring but important — happy to email the certificates over if you'd like to see them.

Most of our work comes from recommendation.

Friends, neighbours, family of past customers. That's probably more useful than anything we could write about ourselves.

What's included in a full pack and move

A day or two before the move we drop off boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper and tape. On the day we turn up early and pack room by room. Fragile items are wrapped properly — plates upright in dish-pack boxes, glasses individually, pictures and mirrors blanket-wrapped, mattress in a fitted bag. Anything valuable (art, piano, instruments) just tell us at quote stage and we'll bring the right kit.

Everything gets labelled by room so it ends up where it should. We load carefully (heavier on the bottom, blankets between furniture), drive to your new home, and unload room by room. Any furniture we dismantled (beds, wardrobes, dining tables) goes back together at the other end.

When you're settled, we take all the empty boxes and packing materials away with us. No hallway full of cardboard for a month.

We cover the whole of London

Every London postcode — North, East, South and West. We're a South London firm based in Mitcham, so the south of the capital is where we work most often, but our branded yellow vans are out across every borough every week.

Areas we move in most often

  • Sutton (SM1, SM2, SM3) — right on our doorstep
  • Battersea (SW8, SW11) — flats and new builds near the park
  • Clapham (SW4) — popular with young professionals and families
  • Croydon (CR0, CR9) — big South London hub with everything from new builds to terraces
  • Fulham (SW6, SW10) — family homes and Victorian terraces by the river
  • Mitcham (CR4) — our home turf, where we're based
  • Morden (SM4) — suburban South London at the end of the Northern Line
  • Wimbledon (SW19, SW20) — mix of period homes and modern flats
  • Crawley (RH10, RH11) — West Sussex, handy for Gatwick relocations
  • Reigate (RH2) — Surrey towns and villages

Not in the list above? Don't worry — we almost certainly cover you. The list just shows where we go most regularly, not the only places we go. Ring us for a quote and we'll be there same as anyone else — whether you're in Hackney, Hammersmith, Camden, Canary Wharf, Islington, Paddington and everywhere in between.

Moving in London — a few things worth knowing

Older terraces and conversions

Victorian and Edwardian conversions are everywhere in London, and they often have narrow staircases, tight landings, and quirky access. We've done thousands of these. We know what comes apart, what needs to go through a window with a strap, and what we'd recommend leaving behind if it's not going to make it.

Timing

End of the month is the busiest period for everyone — Fridays especially. If you've got any flexibility, midweek moves cost less and you'll get a less rushed service. Saturdays in summer book out weeks ahead.
