Yellow Van Company branded removal van at Battersea Power Station — family-run Battersea removals firm serving SW8 and SW11 since 2011
One of our branded yellow vans at Battersea Power Station — reliable removals right in the heart of SW11.

If you're moving home in Battersea and the thought of packing your kitchen, your wardrobes and that storage cupboard you've been ignoring is giving you the fear — we can take the whole lot off your hands.

We're The Yellow Van Company. We're a family-run removals firm based in Mitcham, and we've been moving people in and out of Battersea for over a decade. From the new builds around Battersea Park and the Power Station, to the Victorian terraces of Lavender Hill, to the riverside developments in Nine Elms — we know SW8 and SW11 like the back of our hand.

If you'd rather pack yourself and just need the muscle, we do moving-only jobs too — see prices below.

How much does a removal in Battersea cost?

It depends what you need — and any company giving you a flat price without seeing the job is either guessing or planning to add things on later.

Two ways to book us:

Moving only

You do the packing, we shift everything. Lower cost if you've got the time and don't mind doing it yourself.

  • 1-bed flat: £150–£350
  • 2-bed flat: £250–£400
  • 3-bed house: £400–£600
  • 4+ bed home: £1,000+

*Prices shown are guide estimates for local moves — every move is different, so your final quote will depend on the specifics of your job. Longer distances quoted on request.

Full pack and move (our most popular option)

We do the lot — materials, packing, loading, transport, unloading, unpacking, and we take all the empty boxes away. The least amount of work you can possibly do on moving day.

  • 1-bed flat: £500–£900
  • 2-bed flat: £900–£1,200
  • 3 bed home: £1,400+
  • 4+ bed home: £1,900+

*Prices shown are guide estimates for local moves — every move is different, so your final quote will depend on the specifics of your job. Longer distances quoted on request.

What changes the price:

  • Size of your home
  • How much is there to move
  • Distance to the new place
  • Number of floors at both ends

Ring us for a five-minute ballpark, then a firm written quote after a short video call or visit. No deposits required to hold a date in most cases.

Why people in Battersea choose us

We're properly local.

Our base is in Mitcham, a quick run down the A24 or across the river via Wandsworth Bridge. When you ring us at half nine on a Saturday morning panicking about your move, we can be with you the same day where possible. No driving down from somewhere off the M25.

Eight bright yellow vans, all branded.

We run a fleet of eight branded yellow vans in different sizes. You'll see us coming. Whatever the size of your move, from a Nine Elms one-bed to a Lavender Hill townhouse, we've got the right vehicle.

Over a decade doing this.

We started The Yellow Van Company in 2011 and have been at it ever since. Most of our team have been with us for years — when you book us, you get experienced movers, not someone on their second-ever job.

We're a family business, not a faceless chain.

The person who quotes you is usually one of the people on the day of the move. If something goes wrong, you don't get passed around a call centre — you ring us and we sort it.

Rated 4.9 from over 8,000 reviews across Google, TrustATrader and Trustpilot.

Not a number we made up — go and check. It's the result of thousands of London moves and being happy enough to take the time to say so.

We're fully insured

for your belongings in transit and in our care. Boring but important — happy to email the certificates over if you'd like to see them.

Most of our work comes from recommendation.

Friends, neighbours, family of past customers. That's probably more useful than anything we could write about ourselves.

Yellow Van Company branded removal van at Battersea Park — trusted SW11 removals from a family-run London firm since 2011
Out on a job by Battersea Park — we move SW11 residents in and out of the area every week.

What's included in a full pack and move

A day or two before the move we drop off boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper and tape. On the day we turn up early and pack room by room. Fragile items are wrapped properly — plates upright in dish-pack boxes, glasses individually, pictures and mirrors blanket-wrapped, mattress in a fitted bag. Anything valuable (art, piano, instruments) just tell us at quote stage and we'll bring the right kit.

Everything gets labelled by room so it ends up where it should. We load carefully (heavier on the bottom, blankets between furniture), drive to your new home, and unload room by room. Any furniture we dismantled (beds, wardrobes, dining tables) goes back together at the other end.

When you're settled, we take all the empty boxes and packing materials away with us. No hallway full of cardboard for a month.

Areas of Battersea we cover

We work across the whole of Battersea and its neighbouring areas:

  • Battersea Park (SW11) — the streets around the park and Prince of Wales Drive
  • Nine Elms (SW8) — new builds, the US Embassy area, riverside developments
  • Battersea Power Station (SW8/SW11) — the new apartments and shops
  • Lavender Hill (SW11) — Victorian terraces and conversions
  • Clapham Junction (SW11) — busy area, mix of period and modern
  • Queenstown (SW8) — quieter residential streets

If you're somewhere in SW8 or SW11 we haven't named, ring us. We cover the whole borough.

Moving in Battersea — a few things worth knowing

Victorian terraces

The Lavender Hill terraces have narrow staircases and tight landings. Big wardrobes, three-seater sofas and king beds can struggle. We've moved hundreds of these — send us photos when you ask for a quote and we'll flag anything tricky in advance.

Timing

End of the month is the busiest period for everyone, especially Fridays. If you can do midweek, you'll get a less rushed service and a better price.
